Brokers Notes:
The Nonsuch 30 design offers as much interior space as a 30 footer can carry and still perform well... AND (thanks to the free-standing cat/wishbone rig) she's easy to handle. With one sail, one halyard, one sheet, and two winches, the Nonsuch 30 is the ultimate in uncomplicated sailing. The boat was introduced in 1978 as the first offering of Hinterhoeller Yachts of St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada and it remained in production until 1994. The design is from the board of Mark Ellis. It is unique in that it combines the distinctive shear, highly cambered roach roof and nearly plumb bow and stem of a Cape Cod styled catboat with a moderate-aspect-ratio fin keel, low wetted surface and a partially balanced spade rudder below the waterline. The Nonsuch carries its 11'-10" beam out well towards the ends, as is typical of catboats. This results in interior volume and allows for accommodations that are spacious.

Dave Regnet learned to sail when he was 8 at summer camp on Lake Chautaugua. He returned 7 more summers because sailing (and teaching others to sail) became his passion. Dave grew up in Buffalo where he has been active in the Buffalo Harbor Sailing Club since the early 1980s. In 2007, Dave moved to the Dallas/Fort Worth area and became active in the Lake Grapevine Sailing Club. Returning north in 2010, Dave and his wife, Rebecca, joined the St. Marys Boat Club located on Grand Lake St. Marys. He was club champion in 2017. Dave’s retirement from over 30 years in manufacturing, sales management, and plant operations allows him to pursue his passion for boating by adding value to buyers and sailors alike in the Sandusky area of Lake Erie.
