Broker’s Comments:

“Snark” is a fine example of the wing keel Catalina 28. A freshwater boat sailed on Lake Ontario, she is loaded with the features that cruisers will like. A reliable 18 hp diesel engine with low hours (680) and professionally maintained by marina staff. Sails are easily handled with the mainsail Dutchman system and Hood roller furling system on the 135% genoa. As an entry-level boat or a great boat for downsizing to a daysailer with weekend accommodations, you can’t go wrong with a Catalina 28.

‘SNARK’ is currently shrink-wrapped for the winter and is stored outside. As weather permits, we will install an access door in the wrap so that more interior pictures may be taken. Interested parties may contact Mike Foley, 585 748 7006 or to schedule a viewing. We anticipate the boat will be ready for viewing after the 2nd week of Feb. Stay tuned to this listing for more images and video.

Always involved with boats and boatbuilding, Mike has long been associated with boat owners and marinas in the Sodus Bay area. A former wooden boat owner Mike was bitten by the racing bug in 1992, purchased a J/30 from RCR and campaigned the boat for 12 years.

Mike’s relationship with the Lake Yacht Racing Association (LYRA) has spanned many years, including serving as President from 2004-06. Race administration and regatta organization have consumed much of his time for the past 26 years on Lake Ontario. Involvement with youth sailing led Mike to become President of Central New York Sailing Association (CNYSA) where he continues to chair the annual “Centrals on Sodus” open regatta for juniors and adults. As a strong proponent of youth sailing and education Mike has served as President of the Sodus Bay Junior Sailing Assn. (SBJSA) for several years and is now the Director of Fleet.
